We sell beef by either a mixed quarter (which is a half of a side, and half of all of the cuts) or half an animal (known as a side) based on the weight of the animal (hook weight). People are sometimes worried about how much that will be - before you worry, check out our FAQ's - you'd be surprised how much you get through over the course of a couple of months!!
We will contact people who have expressed an interest in buying our beef when we either have animals that are almost ready, or when we have a few enquiries or orders. If you want to purchase beef, or are interested in being informed next time we have beef for sale, please let us know by emailing [email protected] so we contact you. We will normally contact about 4 - 6 weeks prior to when you receive your beef - so you have plenty of time to clean out the freezer!!
Ordinarily, when we are preparing orders we will send you an order form in word format. The order form lists all the different cuts of meat you can get and lists the options you have for each cut - for example, roast, minced, steaks, etc. Delete the options you don't want, fill out your details and email the order back to us. Alternatively, we can talk you through it and do the order form over the phone and email it to you to check. We ask for a deposit of $50 to confirm your order once we have the completed order form back.
We then arrange to choose animals that are finished, collate the orders and liaise with the butcher. Once we deliver an animal, we are given the exact weight, and provide you with an invoice for the balance of the order based on the hook weight of the animal and whether you have ordered a quarter or a half. For our Qld customers, we also then lock in a firm delivery date - usually about a week and a half away on a Saturday. We like the meat to hang for at least 10 days where possible to maximise quality and tenderness. We then collect from the butcher we work with, and head back to Gold Coast and Brisbane to deliver the meat to you.
